During Sunday worship following the first hymn, children are welcomed to come down from the pews where they are sitting with their families to sit in the chairs at the front of the church for Children’s Time. After the choir anthem, the children are invited to attend Sunday School with our tremendous Sunday School teachers.
During this time of faith formation and spiritual nurture, grades K-6 children receive a lesson catered to their level of spiritual understanding while the adults are hearing the sermon from the minister. The Sunday School is often having fun making crafts, but also growing in their familiarity with the stories of the Bible, and developing a moral and ethical foundation grounded in the peace and love of Jesus. For new children to Sunday School, we ask parents or guardians to fill out a registration sheet, so that we have emergency contact information and are aware of any allergies.
While wiggly, giggly younger children are most welcome in the sanctuary during Sunday worship services, many caregivers prefer to entrust the care of their babies and toddlers to our able Nursery attendant. The nursery is located across from the office on the west side of the building.
